In this quick guide we introduce the beautiful rowan tree, reveal what makes it so popular in London, and give advice on how to get professional rowan tree surgery.

Sorbus aucuparia, also known as the Mountain Ash or Rowan Tree, is a much-loved tree species found all over the British Isles. Long thought to provide protection against witches, it is now valued for its berries which are both food for birds and for a bitter preserve perfect with cold meat and pâtés. The lacy flowers provide pollen and nectar for bees and other insects, while the berries are a rich source of autumn sustenance for blackbirds, mistle thrushes, redstarts, redwings, song thrushes, fieldfares and waxwings.
