Take A Bough Tree Care was established in 2003 by Toby Douglas and became a Limited Company (Take a Bough Ltd.) in 2019. After university in Aberystwyth, Toby studied Arboriculture at Merrist Wood in Surrey. In 2001 he successfully completed a National Certificate in Horticulture and a National Diploma in Arboriculture. He then worked for two years subcontracting to large and respected companies in order to gain practical experience and management expertise to compete successfully for private and corporate contracts once Take A Bough Tree care was launched.

Take A Bough Tree Care has grown into a business renowned for its expertise and for the standard of service offered to its clients. The company is staffed by fully committed, professional, responsible and customer service-driven tree surgeons. All have been professionally trained and have, at least, all relevant National Test Proficiency Certificates (NPTC 30,31,36,38,39) including first aid training. All work complies with British Standard 3998.
